The manager’s office of the Montevecchio mine is a building located in the main square of the town of Gennas. It was built on 1877. On the first floors it contained technical, safety, and administrative offices. This buildig was also the place the manager and his servants used to live in.The building looks like a parallelepiped block with a rectangular base which follows a east to west direction. It has a double axial symmetry and a double-pitch roof. The building contains the St. Barbara’s church on the backside (apse and transept) . The church has a latin-cross shape. Its Art Nouveau paintings are very beautiful. The main decorations are in the meeting room. It is a hall with a pavilion vault and with several frescoes on the ceiling and the walls. In the middle of the ceiling there is a rectangular architectural shape which is painted with a circular subject. Some lines go from the center of this circle to the walls. They form a series of segments which are painted with an alternation ofcts and images of women upon a shell. Some birds are represented in the corners of the ceiling. The circle in the middle of the ceiling is surrounded by a frame and by several symbols of the mineral activity. The doors are decorated too with odd female figures.
